One of Donald Trump’s harshest critics within the Republican Party is one step closer to joining the Republican Presidential Primary for the 2024 Election. Earlier today, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, Hogan, who is finishing his second and final term as governor, Hogan has already visited early primary states, including Iowa. He told supporters to expect a decision on a 2024 campaign after he leaves offices in January.
Throughout his two terms in office, Hogan frequently voiced his opposition to many of Trump’s actions and policies in office. According to the Associated Press, Hogan acknowledged that he faces tough odds against in the 2024 Primary.
“I’m going to sit down and talk to my family, talk to my friends and determine how I can best serve our great nation,” Hogan said. “I know there is no shortage of naysayers, but I’ve always been an underdog, and people have always counted us out, but every single time, we’ve beaten the odds,”
Should Hogan decide to jump into the primary race, his field of competition will likely to include at least one other major competitor, such as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis or former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, who have yet to declare but are fueling speculation of a run among their respective followers and supporters.
